The Angels’ Reach is a basis for my various interstellar sci-fi fiction projects. Since I have been writing stories in iterations of this setting since at least 2012 (“The Story Behind”), it has grown quite expansive.


The name “The Angels’ Reach” refers not to spiritual angels, but to the Angels - an enigmatic species of stern, patronizing aliens whose intervention is believed to have saved humans from extinction. Those who live in this setting refer to the extent of human colonial expansion - a modest swath of the Orion Arm of the Milky Way - as the Colonial Reach.
